A SOURCING JOURNEY / UNITED KINGDOM

Exploring Custom Cabinetry for a UK Home

Arun and his wife travelled to China to explore cabinetry for their home in the UK. With Shin’s help, they compared materials, looked at hardware and discussed how the available options could fit their own ideas.

THE BRIEF

A renovation in the UK.
A first visit to China.

Cabinetry needs to work with both the space and the way a home is used. For Arun, a visit to China offered the chance to see products in person and ask the questions that were difficult to settle online.

He had found Arcaya through the website while looking into cabinetry for a property he had bought in the UK. He and his wife wanted to explore styles, materials, hardware and custom options for the renovation.

On his first evening in China, Shin met him at the hotel. Their conversation ranged from everyday life to products and the visit ahead, giving Arun an opportunity to ask questions before the showroom discussions began the following day.

01 / MATERIALS

Start with a sample.
Make the comparison tangible.

At the cabinetry showroom, Arun and his wife began with materials. Samples gave them a shared reference for discussing woodgrain, colour and surface finishes.

Shin helped them communicate with the showroom team, bringing their ideas for the home into a discussion about specific materials and cabinetry styles.

The aim was to understand which options were available and which details they wanted to compare more closely for their UK renovation.

02 / HARDWARE & DETAILS

Look beyond the exterior.

Hardware and internal configurations were another part of the visit. Arun and his wife looked at displays and cabinetry samples while discussing the available styles and options.

Moving from the overall appearance to individual details made the conversation more specific: which features suited their ideas, and which choices would need to be checked against the dimensions of their home.

Arcaya supported those conversations on site, helping the clients express their preferences and discuss the same samples with supplier representatives.

03 / CUSTOM CHOICES

Bring personal ideas
into the discussion.

Seeing the samples helped Arun explore how cabinetry could be customised around his preferences. The dimensions of the home, specified materials and the style he had in mind all formed part of the conversation.

Showroom pieces offered a starting point. The exact solution for the property would still need to be worked through in dimensions, drawings and product specifications.

Before an order, those decisions need to be confirmed alongside the quotation, packing, shipping and local installation arrangements.

A visit that made the questions more specific.

From the first evening’s conversation to the material and hardware comparisons, Arun and his wife’s visit brought their renovation plans into a practical discussion with suppliers.

Arcaya’s role was to support the selection process and communication, helping them explore the options and identify what needed to be confirmed next.
